The movie starts with you watching the ocean. Then an Island comes into view, a very weird looking island. The island is called Mystic Island. Long ago, on that island,Humans and demons lived peacefully,and that's how half demons came along. Soon, the half demons were hated and scorned by humans and demons that lived across the sea,so a barrier was placed on the island, that made the island invisible,and kept out demons that tried to attack. Once every 50 years though, the barrier weakens, and that's how demons attack everyone. One such group of demons that came, were called the Shitoushin. They killed everyone there, and soon they became weak and would disapear forever,but they found out that by throwing half demons into the mystical furnace of cries, that you could gain power for another 50 years until the barrier weakened again. Every 50 years a sacrafice was made, and everyone who jumped in would turn into a firefly, to watch over the last 5 children. The shitoushin became weak when The priestess who guarded the island sucked most of their powers into the box of sealed souls. Then she jumped into the furnace so they could never get it again. She turned into a little thing of magic that could talk, and guards the box inside the furnace. 50 years later... 5 hanyou walked into the chamber where the furnace of cries was. They all had cloaks. The oldest, Sister Kagome, followed by the others, fell down in pain as the furnace akakened and they had the mark of the shitoushin on them. Everyone got the mark, except for the youngest, named Ran. The oldest sent her across the sea, because if you have the mark, you can't leave the island, so Ran didn't have the mark, she could get away. When Ran got across the Island, she was walking along the beach with nothing but her cloak. She didn't know where she was. Then black clouds started to roll in. Up in the sky, a bird flies by, and you follow it to a rock where 3 demon are standing. It was the Shitoushin. they started to talk about how they would get the girl back to the island. then they have Ganro,the monster that can only stay under water cause he's a giant sea turtle,attack the girl and just kill her. Ran starts running because the turtle is firing at her. Just when shes about to be hit, Kerara fly's by and Miroku grabs her.Then he gives Ran to Kagome who is on top of shippo while he is in his pink bubble form. She takes her and then the turtle fires at Kagome and shippo and ran, Kagome yells for Inuyasha and Inuyasha jumps out of the forest and blocks it with his sword. He starts fighting the sea turtle, and Kagome notices that Ran knows Inuyasha when she yells Inuyasha and then the turtle fires at them again. Sango throws herikotsu but the turtle is about to hit them so shippo changes back into himself, everyone starts falling. inuyasha catches Kagome and Ran and Miroku catches Shippo. The battle is over when Kagome fires an arrow and Inuyasha uses Wind scar. Then they talk and Inuyasha tells them about mystic island and kikyo took him there once. That's how Ran knows him. Inuyasha falls and Kagome looks at his back and Inuyasha has the mark of the shitoushin. They go the next day and are fired at. Sango lures one demon away on Kerara, with Miroku.
